It seems like life has just been so busy lately...but I'm sitting here trying to figure out what we've been doing. It seems that all we do is work! Between Brad and I we are working 4-5 12 hour shifts a week and it feels like one of us is always at work. It's been almost 2 months now that we've been done the maternity/paternity leaves...and I think I'm slowly adjusting to life as it's going to be. I've toyed the idea of trying a different job...but that would just mean the need for child care and right now I'm just not ready for that. I would have such a hard time leaving my kids...I know it's mostly because I'm a bit controlling regarding them and would not like giving that control over to someone else.
So this is life...and even though it sounds like I was complaining about life...life is pretty darn good! It's a busy household and just getting busier as Levi learns to walk and get around more. He is our climber and we have to watch out for him. His new thing is climbing out of the high chair...Brad found him standing on the table holding onto the back of the chair. I guess it's time for the 5 point harness! He's slowly learning to take a few steps...but I'm not pushing him too hard to walk...I know life is going to get a lot more busy when he does!
Benjamin...he's entered the "tantrum" phase of life. It's been sometimes embarrassing but yet incredibly humorous. I'm sure hoping this phase exits for him before it enters for Levi!! We took Benjamin on a little vacation to Bismarck a few weeks back to watch Brad run a half-marathon. Ben has become a much better traveler...it's amazing what Dora and a portable DVD player can do! This was the first time we've attempted sleeping in the same room as him in the hotel (since he was a baby)...it was so humorous listening to him try to go to sleep...singing, talking to himself...finally after many conversations with himself he settled to sleep.
Brad and I are excited to have the opportunity to go on two vacations in the few months. Winnipeg in a few weeks (only for a weekend) and then on a cruise to Bermuda for a week! Thanks to my sister, mom and dad who willingly are watching the boys so we can take a little break! It's going to be great...I'm counting down the days!
