We had a fabulous weekend...going out for the first time camping with the boys. And our first time taking our camper out...and what a blessing it was...I can't imagine tenting with two little kids! The weather was beautiful and the bugs not horrible so that made the experience all the better. We went down to a small regional park just as hour from home so the trip was nice and quick.
We spent most of our time just "relaxing"...if you want to call constantly running after Benjamin relaxing. He loved it out there. Thankfully we had some helping hands in the site next to us, so he was often occupied which made our life a lot easier! And it worried us a bit less when we suddenly couldn't find him...which happened quite often. A leash may be in order for the next camping trip! But he loved it out there...playing in the leaves, eating dirt, kicking balls, sticking his hands in the fire...things that little boys do. The only things we have to work on now is getting rid of his fear of water and swings...then we'll be set.
Levi was wonderful...much more content than at home...makes me think I should stick him out on the deck more often! I think he had so many new things to see that he forgot that we wasn't being entertained by us. The only thing that did not go as well as we had hoped was sleeping. Levi was up at 5:45 each morning...which isn't abnormal, but I think we were hoping being outside all day would make him sleep better...I guess not. And with him being up that early, Ben pops up next to him with his sweet "hi" and then there is no getting him back to bed either. So by the time the campground started coming alive we'd already had bacon and eggs and were ready for a nap!
Despite the lack of sleep we look forward to our next camping experiences with the boys and creating hopefully memories they will remember fondly for their lifetime.
